A man was shot Tuesday evening in Taunton, Massachusetts, after he stabbed four people in two separate incidents.
The man later died from his wounds, Massachusetts State Police said, and so did two of his victims. Authorities say the man stabbed two people at a house in Taunton, 40 miles south of Boston, then drove to the Silver City Galleria and crashed his car into a store. He then ran inside and stabbed two people, and was shot by the off-duty officer. Witnesses told WHDH they heard gunshots and saw people fleeing from the mall, which was put on lockdown.
UPDATE: The suspect has been identified as Arthur DaRosa, 28. "The suspect's motive remains under investigation but at this point we are aware of no nexus to terrorism," the Taunton Police Department said in a statement.
