Donald Trump: 'Everything I say right now...is a suggestion'

Donald Trump did some major backtracking this week, claiming that his earlier call for Muslims to be banned from traveling to the United States was "just a suggestion." On Friday, Trump doubled down on his new motto, telling Fox & Friends, "Everything I say right now, I'm not the president. Everything is a suggestion, no matter what you say, it's a suggestion."
The statement is likely to concern those who have already raised questions about Trump's apparent lack of commitment to any given policy. "He's nothing if not inconsistent," Republican policy adviser Bruce Bartlett observed to Politico last year.
