A French naval search ship sailing in the Mediterranean Sea may have picked up signals from the black boxes of the crashed EgyptAir jet, Egypt said Wednesday. The signal from the black boxes, which The Associated Press reports emit "locator pings," could help further narrow the search for the plane that crashed May 19 en route to Cairo from Paris, killing all 66 passengers and crew on board.
The search had already been narrowed to a three-mile area in the Mediterranean Sea. A second ship is set to join the search later this week. Though debris from the plane has been found at sea, the main wreckage has yet to be discovered.
