Hamilton takes home Tony Awards for Best Musical, Best Original Score

After being nominated for a record 16 Tonys this year, Hamilton took home 11 awards, including Best Musical, Best Book of a Musical, and Best Original Score Written for the Theater.

Other big winners include: The Humans for Best Play; The Color Purple for Best Revival of a Musical; Arthur Miller's A View From the Bridge for Best Revival of a Play; Long Day's Journey Into Night's Jessica Lange (Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role in a Play); The Father's Frank Langella (Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Play); Hamilton's Leslie Odom Jr. (Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Musical); The Color Purple's Cynthia Erivo (Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Musical); Hamilton's Daveed Diggs (Best Performance by a Featured Actor in a Musical); and Hamilton's Renée Elise Goldsberry (Best Performance by a Featured Actress in a Musical).
