President Obama to visit Baton Rouge
President Obama plans to visit Baton Rouge, Louisiana, next Tuesday following devastating floods that have killed 13 and left thousands homeless:
Gov. John Bel Edwards had said that he preferred Obama to visit next week, so the state would not need to pull officers from search and rescue missions or shut down roads during the recovery process in order to protect the president. Donald Trump made his own visit to Baton Rouge on Friday; Hillary Clinton has not visited the state, but said on her Facebook page that "my heart breaks for Louisiana, and right now, the relief effort can't afford any distractions."
