Anne of Green Gables fans, get ready: A new miniseries featuring the plucky teen will stream on Netflix in 2017.

The eight episode series Anne, an adaptation of the Lucy Maud Montgomery classic, will also air on CBC in Canada. Like the book, Anne will focus on the orphan living in Prince Edward Island during the late 1800s. Netflix says Emmy Award winner Moira Walley-Beckett's scripts will reflect "timeless issues including themes of identity, sexism, bullying, prejudice, and trusting one's self." In 1985, the CBC aired a popular adaptation of Anne of Green Gables, starring Megan Follows. Production will begin in Ontario in September.
