Donald Trump is still paying former campaign manager Corey Lewandowski
Corey Lewandowski apparently got paid by Donald Trump's campaign months after his tenure as campaign manager had ended. A report by ABC News out Wednesday highlighted campaign filings showing Lewandowski's company, Green Monster Consulting, LLC, received $20,000 for "strategy consulting" from Trump's presidential campaign in August. Lewandowski was fired as Trump's campaign manager in June.
Trump and Lewandowski's remaining ties extend beyond that payment. The Washington Post reported last week that Lewandowski is still getting severance pay from Trump's campaign. And, per a senior level campaign staffer, Trump calls Lewandowski "quite frequently" during his "routine round of phone calls" every morning, which includes conversations with his kids and his senior campaign staff. "They talk almost every day," the staffer told ABC News.
Lewandowski now works for CNN as an on-air political commentator, a position he got within days of leaving Trump's campaign.
