The San Francisco Giants are looking for some even-year magic as they go head to head with the New York Mets Wednesday evening at Queens' Citi Field for the National League wild-card game. The pitching matchup pits the Mets' titanic young pitcher, Noah Syndergaard, against the Giants' playoff-proven Madison Bumgarner.
"It's going to be an exciting game," Giants manager Bruce Bochy told The Associated Press on Tuesday. "I mean, this is the fun thing about postseason is you're going to get great matchups like this."
The first pitch is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET; the winning team will advance to the National League Division Series and face the Chicago Cubs. Read The Week's predictions for the playoffs here.
