Trump: 'We are deeply saddened by this tragedy'

President Trump said he and Vice President Mike Pence are monitoring developments about the shooting at the Republican congressional baseball practice in Virginia on Wednesday and are "deeply saddened by this tragedy." The statement added: "Our thoughts and prayers are with the members of Congress, their staffs, Capitol Police, first responders, and all others affected."
"Rep. Steve Scalise of Louisiana, a true friend and patriot, was badly injured but will fully recover," Trump added in a tweet.
