Tropical Storm Maria has formed in the Atlantic, and could be a major hurricane by Wednesday, threatening areas like the Leeward Islands, Puerto Rico, Haiti, and the Dominican Republic, which are already reeling from Hurricane Irma. "It would be no surprise if Maria got significantly stronger than currently forecast," the National Hurricane Center said. Here are the wind speed projections for the storm:
