Former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn confirmed Friday that he has agreed to cooperate with Special Counsel Robert Mueller's team after pleading guilty to lying to the FBI. "After over 33 years of military service to our country … it has been extraordinarily painful to endure these many months of false accusations of 'treason' and other outrageous acts," Flynn said in a statement.

He added: "I recognize that the actions I acknowledged in court today were wrong and, through my faith in God, I am working to set things right." He called his decision to cooperate with Mueller "in the best interests of my family and of our country." Read the full statement below. Jeva Lange
