The 70th Emmys got off to an uncomfortable start on Monday night with an opening number mocking … diversity? Saturday Night Live co-stars Kate McKinnon and Kenan Thompson announced in their opening remarks that the 2018 nominees are the most diverse in Emmy history, and proceeded to celebrate that fact with a literal song and dance skewering Hollywood's self-congratulatory attitude toward representative casting. Too soon?
