Donald Trump Jr. says #MeToo leaves him more worried for his sons than his daughters

In light of the #MeToo movement, Donald Trump Jr. is worried about his children's future, but not in the way you might think.
While speaking to The Daily Mail, the president's son said in reference to the sexual assault allegations against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, "I've got boys, and I've got girls. And when I see what's going on right now, it's scary." When asked if he's more worried for his sons or his daughters, Trump Jr. said, "I mean, right now, I'd say my sons," implying he's more fearful that his sons will be falsely accused of sexual misconduct than that his daughters will be victims of sexual misconduct. Per Quartz, research has shown that false sexual assault allegations are very rare, with the National Registry of Exonerations citing 52 cases since 1989 in which a man was exonerated after being convicted of sexual assault.
This interview took place two days before Christine Blasey Ford testified under oath that Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh forcibly groped her and tried to rape her at a high school gathering. Kavanaugh, also under oath, denied the allegation. Trump Jr. also said in his interview that Ford's claim is "so obviously political," adding that it "diminishes the real claims." And although he was speaking prior to hearing Ford's testimony, it doesn't sound like that changed his mind, as he tweeted Thursday that her claims are "nothing more than a political hit job by the Dems."
