Wasserman Schultz is the former chair of the Democratic National Committee, making her the third notable Democrat to receive a suspicious package on Wednesday. Suspicious packages, which The New York Times reports contained explosives, were addressed to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's Westchester County office and former President Barack Obama's home. Secret Service says it intercepted those packages before they reached addressees. An official also says the devices found inside were similar to an explosive found at liberal donor George Soros' home on Monday.

Another package was also found at the Time Warner Center in New York City, which houses CNN's newsroom. It was addressed to former CIA Director John Brennan, who has been critical of President Trump, CNN reports. Return addresses on all the packages reportedly feature Wasserman Schultz's name and office address, per NBC News.

Sunrise police told people to stay out of the area near Wasserman Schultz's office in a Wednesday tweet, and the Broward County Sheriff's office tweeted that its bomb squad was on the scene.
