Oprah is hitting the campaign trail ... for Georgia Democratic gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams
If you're an eligible voter in Georgia, Oprah Winfrey may be knocking on your door this week, and not because she's going trick-or-treating.
Winfrey on Thursday will be hitting the campaign trail for Democratic gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams, BuzzFeed News reports. This will include knocking on doors as well as holding two town hall events with Abrams. Winfrey previously campaigned for Barack Obama in 2007, but she did not do so for Hillary Clinton during the 2016 election, as much as the Clinton campaign wanted her to. She did, however, back Clinton as a candidate.
Abrams, a former member of the Georgia House of Representatives, is running against Georgia Secretary of State Brian Kemp, who has been accused of voter suppression in recent weeks. Kemp denies these allegations and says he has only tried to prevent voter fraud. The race has come down to the wire, with Kemp currently polling just about one point ahead of Abrams, per RealClearPolitics.

Observers on both sides see this as one of the most critical races in the midterms, with President Trump and Vice President Mike Pence also heading down to campaign for Kemp this week.
