Democratic Sen. Joe Donnelly loses re-election in Indiana

Republican businessman Mike Braun has won Indiana's Senate race, ABC News and NBC News project.
Braun won with 53.7 percent of the vote over Donnelly's 42.1 percent, with 50 percent of precincts reporting, per The New York Times.
Donnelly was one of several incumbent Democrats fighting a tough race in a red state, seeing as Indiana went for President Trump by more than 20 points in 2016. Donnelly complicated his re-election bid by opposing Brett Kavanaugh's Supreme Court nomination, and Braun earned several campaign rally stops from President Trump right before the election. The race was in a dead heat in the polls up until Election Day.
