In a surprise upset, Democrat Kendra Horn defeated incumbent Rep. Steve Russell (R) in Oklahoma's 5th Congressional District.

Russell, first elected in 2014, was expected to have an easy win. This is the first time a Democrat has held the seat, KOCO News 5 reports, and News 9 says this is the first time a congressional seat in Oklahoma has gone blue since Dan Boren represented the 2nd Congressional District from 2005 to 2013.
