Trump rages against Mueller ahead of key document releases
President Trump on Twitter lashed out against Special Counsel Robert Muller Friday. The tweets came hours before the expected filing of two key documents in the Russia investigation: a sentencing memo for former Trump attorney Michael Cohen, and a report detailing former campaign chairman Paul Manafort's alleged "crimes and lies."
Trump in his tweets accused Mueller of having conflicts of interest, including that he previously worked with former FBI Director James Comey. Trump also went after Andrew Weissmann, a member of Mueller's team, claiming he has a "horrible and vicious prosecutorial past." Finally, Trump attacked Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, calling him "totally conflicted" because he signed off on the renewal of a FISA warrant to surveil former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page.
