You've heard of celebrities thanking God during their awards acceptance speeches, but how about Satan?
Christian Bale won the Golden Globe award Sunday for Best Actor in a Motion Picture — Musical or Comedy for his performance as Dick Cheney in Vice, which received the most nominations of any film. In his acceptance speech, he decided to thank someone unexpected. "Thank you to Satan for giving me inspiration on how to play this role," Bale said.
Bale also said that Vice's director, Adam McKay, cast him because he was looking for someone who is "absolutely charisma-free and reviled by everybody." Now, Bale joked, he has cornered the market on playing charisma-free a--holes and may have to play Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) next. Watch Bale's comments below. Brendan Morrow
