Party of Five is back — but with a timely twist.
The '90s Fox drama followed the trials and tribulations of the Salinger siblings — played by Matthew Fox, Neve Campbell, Scott Wolf, and Lacey Chabert — orphaned after their parents were killed in a car accident. On Monday, Freeform announced it has ordered 10 episodes of a reboot, this time focusing on five siblings dealing with their parents being deported to Mexico. Freeform President Tom Ascheim told Deadline the show "embodies the heart and soul of what it means to be a family in the most trying of times."
Chris Keyser and Amy Lippman, the creators of the original series, are behind the reboot. The new Party of Five will star Brandon Larracuente as Emilio Acosta, Emily Tosta as Lucia Acosta, Niko Guardado as Beto Acosta, and Elle Paris Legaspi as Valentina Acosta.
