Michael Cohen is taking the Trump Organization to court.
President Trump's former attorney filed a lawsuit against the president's company, accusing it of violating a contract by not paying his legal fees after June 2018, Bloomberg reported Thursday.
His lawsuit says that the organization has failed "to meet its indemnification obligations under a contractual agreement" signed in 2017 by not compensating him for costs incurred amid Special Counsel Robert Mueller's Russia probe and other ongoing investigations. It also says the Trump Organization stopped paying his fees "only after it became clear that Mr. Cohen would cooperate" in these investigations last summer. He says the Trump Organization owes him $1.9 million. The Trump Organization has not yet commented publicly on the suit.

Cohen worked for Trump until last year, when he began to cooperate with prosecutors and eventually pleaded guilty to violating campaign finance laws, which he says was done at Trump's direction. He will begin serving a three-year prison sentence in May.
