An employee opened fire at Virginia Beach's municipal center on Friday, killing 12 and injuring four others, Virginia Beach police Chief Jim Cervera has announced. Officials identified the victims, 11 of whom worked for the city, and gunman on Saturday.

The suspect, DeWayne Craddock, was shot and killed by police after he fired at officers, The Virginian-Pilot reports via a Friday evening press conference with Cervera. One officer was shot but was saved thanks to his bulletproof vest, Cervera said. The four injured victims were all in surgery Friday.
