House Democrats issue subpoena to Rick Perry in impeachment inquiry
It's Energy Secretary Rick Perry's turn at bat for a congressional subpoena.
House Democrats issued a subpoena to Perry on Thursday for documents related to his involvement in President Trump's dealings with Ukraine. In a letter, subcommittee chairs Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), Elijah Cummings (D-Md.), and Eliot Engel (D-N.Y.) say recent reports have called into question Perry's role in Trump's July 25 phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
"These reports have also raised significant questions about your efforts to press Ukrainian officials to change the management structure at a Ukrainian state-owned energy company to benefit individuals involved with Rudy Giuliani's push to get Ukrainian officials to interfere in our 2020 election," the congressmen wrote.

Perry previously said he would work with Congress in their investigation of the Ukraine whistleblower's complaint, despite the White House saying earlier this week Trump would not cooperate with the impeachment inquiry. Perry, who has previously met with the Ukrainian president at least three times, was present at Zelensky's inauguration in May 2019 and met with him as recently as late August.
Perry has until Oct. 18 to comply with the order.
