Police called out to hairy joyrider
Police in Colorado responding to reports of a car crash were surprised to discover the driver was a 200lb black bear. Officials say the animal broke into the car and began gnawing on the gear selector, putting it into neutral. It then rolled out of the driveway, across the street and into a spruce tree. The bear was released, unharmed.

Man arrested for stealing police phone
A Chinese man has been arrested on suspicion of stealing a mobile telephone from a local police station. He reportedly went to the station to lodge a complaint about an employment agency and decided to steal the phone to make up for the money he lost. The theft was caught on security cameras.
Woman with 'skull on stick' leads police to body
Police in Sacramento say a homeless woman has helped them locate a dead body. She had been spotted walking down the street with a human skull on a stick. She told police she had found it and led them to a nearby homeless camp, where the rest of the body was lying.
