The normally rather direct Glenn Beck has released a puzzling, "apocalyptic" book trailer for his upcoming thriller novel, The Overton Window, the story of a man trying to save America by restoring the principles of the Founding Fathers. The video, says Keith Staskiewicz at Entertainment Weekly, is "certainly interesting, a kinetic text illustration of a creepy poem that sounds like Dr. Seuss by way of the Book of Revelations" with lines like, "The dog returns to his vomit / And the sow returns to her mire / And the burnt fool’s bandaged finger / Goes wabbling back to the fire" (excerpts, it turns out, from Rudyard Kipling's 1919 poem "The Gods of the Copybook Headings). Unlike a typically meek book trailer, says Nate Jones in Time, Beck's "epic" effort "slams viewers in the face." But then, "Glenn Beck does not act like a traditional newsman."
