GOOD DAY FOR: Written complaints, after the Writers Guild of America filed an unfair labor practices complaint against Hollywood producers in a bid to get them back to the bargaining table. The Guild alleges that the producers illegally walked out on contract negotiations last week. Former Guild lawyer Jonathan Handel said the complaint was “ill-considered and inflammatory.” (AP in Yahoo! Finance)
BAD DAY FOR: Romantics, after a survey by Prince & Associates found that two-thirds of the middle-class women and half the men polled said they would marry for money. The average base price was $1.5 million. “I’m a little shocked at the numbers,” said University of Michigan sociologist Pamela Smock. “It’s kind of against the notion of love and soul mates.” (The Wall Street Journal)
