GOOD DAY FOR: Staying together, after a study found that divorced households spent 46 percent more per person on electricity and 56 percent more on water than married households in 2005, feeding global warming in the process. “If you don’t want to get remarried, maybe move in with somebody you like,” suggests lead researcher Jianguo Liu at Michigan State University. BAD DAY FOR: Losing your cellphone, as AT&T said it is leaving the public pay phone business by the end of next year. Cellphones and wireless devices have cut pay phone usage and profitability, the company said. AT&T, which has been in the pay phone business for 129 years, operates 65,000 coin-op phones in 13 states. Its departure leaves Verizon as the last large pay phone operator. (CNN)
