Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski has been charged with misdemeanor battery over allegations that he grabbed now-ex Breitbart News reporter Michelle Fields at a Trump press conference on March 8, ABC News reported Tuesday morning. A police report says Lewandowski turned himself in to police just after 8 a.m.

Fields' allegations that Lewandowski grabbed her and nearly pulled her to the ground after she tried to ask Trump a question were reportedly corroborated by footage captured at the event. Fields resigned from her post at Breitbart shortly after the original incident, claiming the organization failed to support her. Lewandowski maintained in a statement Tuesday that he is "absolutely innocent of this charge."
