Tim Kaine went to the debate and all he got was this lousy email

Never mind that vice-presidential debates don't really matter and that nobody really watches them. Sen. Tim Kaine — Hillary Clinton's right-hand man, her electoral sidekick, her trusty harmonica-wielding running mate — was left with only an email of congratulations from the Democratic nominee yesterday evening after facing off against Gov. Mike Pence in the vice-presidential debate:

That's right: Kaine received nary a telegram nor a smoke signal nor a voicemail from his running mate after the debate, just a lousy ol' email. After 13 long and lonely hours, though, Clinton did finally make verbal contact with Kaine around noon Wednesday:

With that, the rumors can be dispelled.
