Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) is speaking out against Donald Trump's recent allegations about electoral fraud, calling his tweeted accusations "disgraceful and unfounded nonsense."

Trump spent a good chunk of his Sunday afternoon tweeting about the baseless claim that "millions" of people cast illegal ballots during the presidential election, a conspiracy he said ultimately undermines the legitimacy of his win. In a statement released Monday, Sanders said Trump's comments are sending a "very clear signal that the Republicans will move to make it harder for people of color, the elderly, immigrants, young people, and poor people to participate in elections," and lawmakers need to focus on making it "easier for people to participate in the political process, not harder." Sanders also went after the GOP as a whole, saying Republicans are "threatening American democracy."
