On Monday, President Trump replaced Daniel Ragsdale, the acting head of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, with Thomas Homan. Since 2013, Homan has been the executive associate director of ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations. Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly made the announcement Monday night, not long after Trump fired acting Attorney General Sally Yates for defying his executive order on immigration, which she said she did not believe was lawful.

UPDATE: After initial reports that Ragsdale had been fired, reflected in an earlier version of this article, ICE clarified late Monday night that he would go back to deputy director. Catherine Garcia
