President Trump sent out a string of tweets Sunday morning reflecting on the G-20 summit and specifically his first face-to-face meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin. These remarks come after Putin's positive comments about the meeting, in which he told the press he believes Trump is "satisfied" with his denial of alleged Russian meddling in the 2016 election.
The most recent opinion Trump has given on Russian election interference is that "it was Russia" but "it was probably other people and/or countries" and "a lot of people interfered" and "nobody really knows for sure." In Sunday's tweets, Trump seems to build on that confusion in his assertion that former President Obama was wrong not to take stronger action against Russia while he was in office — and that it would be inappropriate for Trump himself to do now whatever it is Obama should have done then.
