Greggs sales boosted by salads and soups

Healthy choices part of five-year remodelling plan as bakery moves towards focusing on food-on-the-go

More wholesome food options have seen sales at Greggs rise by 5.6% over the last quarter.

The Newcastle-based chain launched a new menu in the summer as part of a five year-strategic plan to move from being a traditional bakery to focusing on food-on-the-go. Along with the traditional sausage rolls, pies and pasties, hungry shoppers can also buy salads, yoghurts, gluten-free options and lower-calorie soups.
