V&A Museum to release its own paint range
Bring a touch of the past to your home with a range of 40 colours inspired by some of history's finest pieces
The Victoria and Albert Museum has collaborated with a paint manufacturer to produce a range of luxury interior paints inspired by the architecture and exhibits of the museum.
A range of 40 colours will let you bring a touch of the iconic London museum to your own home.Shades available include Trajan's Column, which has a white tinge inspired by the museum's plaster-cast replica of the 1st century AD Roman triumphal monument.
Reuben Red echoes the rich fabrics that were once a popular choice for carpets and upholstery in the Victorian era. The colour is named after draftsman and modeller Reuben Townroe, who designed many of the decorative motifs seen in the museum's architecture.

Meanwhile, the sea-green shades which distinguish the museum's Oriental collection rooms are reflected in Owen's Teal, named for the original designer of the rooms, Owen Jones.
The collaboration with Master Paintmakers will use the "finest pigments to achieve the highest quality paint" suitable for furniture, walls, ceilings and woodwork, says the museum.
As well as taking their inspiration from the V&A Museum, the paints will also be used in the building itself. The fittingly named Grand Entrance can already be seen around the main doorway on Cromwell Road and there are plans to use other shades in selected galleries.
The V&A Classic Paint Collection goes on sale in spring 2017.
