EB Meyrowitz: New eyewear collection
The opticians' unveils its latest range, inspired by Moroccan architecture
Founded in Prussia by Emil Bruno Meyrowitz in 1852, opticians EB Meyrowitz has always had a dynamic history at the forefront of adventure and travel, having created optical devices and instruments in the early days of motor racing, mountaineering and aviation. It carries this focus on craftsmanship into the modern day, and now has ateliers across the globe offering both ready-to-wear and bespoke services.
The brand has looked to Morocco for the inspiration behind its latest collection. Built to evoke and honour the country’s Moorish architecture and design, the new models are made of buffalo horn and come in an array of shades and mottles. The earthy hues speak to the nature of the region, and elegantly recall the bohemian feel and nomadic disposition of the Berber State and its magnificent, alluring cities.
Each of the six models is handmade from eight pieces, in a painstaking and precise process carried out by the craftspeople in its ateliers across the UK, Germany and France. With prices from £2,500, the collection – the Fes, the Tarfaya, the Casablanca, the Marrakech, the Tangier and the Rabat – will be sold exclusively at the EB Meyrowitz boutique at The Royal Arcade, London.
