The battle over Budweiser
AB InBev, which produces Budweiser beer and is recognized as the world’s biggest brewer, will have to call its flagship beer “Bud”—at least in Italy. The brewer lost a recent court battle with Czech-based brewer Budejovicky Budvar, which also sells a beer known as Budweiser. The breweries have been battling it out for decades, with trademark disputes still outstanding in more than 20 countries.

The growth of part-time jobs
The percentage of American workers with only part-time jobs peaked at 19.7 percent in 2010, and has since fallen to 18 percent. But since last year, the number of job postings for part-time work grew at an average of 3 percent per month, about twice the growth rate of full-time postings.

Productive commuting time
Workers are enjoying their commutes to the office more. A study of 27,556 British rail passengers found that 37 percent fewer felt commuting was a waste of time in 2010 than had in 2004. Researchers attribute the change to the rise of mobile devices, which make commuters feel more productive as they check email, listen to podcasts, or catch up on news.
