Unemployment takes its toll

The number of households with at least one unemployed parent increased by a third between 2005 and 2011, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. Nevada experienced the biggest jump in families hit by unemployment—148 percent—followed by Hawaii (95 percent) and Florida (93 percent).
