Gluten-free beer: Why not?
Brewers are experimenting with alternative grains to create flavorful gluten-free beers.
Everyone should be able to enjoy a cold beer, said Josh Bernstein in BonAppetit.com. But for millions, beer “is not a pleasure but a source of pain.” The culprit is gluten, which is found in wheat and barley and can cause stomach ailments for people with celiac disease. Fortunately, “ingenious brewers” are experimenting with alternative grains, creating gluten-free beers that are “as flavorful as anything in the craft beer aisle.”
