For those who have everything: Ralph Lauren's Olympic uniforms
Ralph Lauren would love it if you dressed up for next week’s broadcast of the Olympics’ opening ceremonies. The Lauren-designed uniforms that U.S. athletes will wear as they parade into London are a bit disappointing: They’re sure to make our sports heroes look like a cross between “upscale flight attendants” and a guerrilla army from Greenwich, Conn. But home-viewers can at least express solidarity by purchasing the same made-in-China ensemble online. The women’s blazer is priced at $598 and is meant to be paired with a $498 silk skirt. The men’s blazer, despite the “in-your-face” presence of Lauren’s “Big Pony” logo on the left breast, runs $795. “And that damn beret?” All yours—for $55.
