1. ROMNEY AND SANTORUM CLASH IN TIGHT PRIMARY
Going into Tuesday's Michigan GOP presidential primary, polls show Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum neck-and-neck in the crucial state. "I'm going to win in Michigan and I'm going to win across the country," Romney told a crowd Monday night. The Santorum campaign has taken to making robocalls to Democrats in Michigan, where Dems are allowed to vote in Republican primaries. Arizona also holds its primary today; Romney has been well ahead in polls there. [Associated Press]

2. ISRAEL WON'T WARN U.S. BEFORE IRAN ATTACK
Israel said it wouldn't give the U.S. a heads-up should it decide to strike Iran's nuclear facilities, according to a U.S. intelligence official. The official said Israel wants to keep the U.S. in the dark so Washington won't be blamed for failing to stop Israel from attacking Iran. [Associated Press]

3. DOZENS FOUND DEAD IN SYRIA MASS KILLINGS
The bodies of dozens of men were discovered Monday in a wasteland outside Homs. Opposition activists say 64 men were found dead in what appears to be one of the worst mass killings of the 11-month uprising. [Washington Post]

4. TWO CONFIRMED DEAD IN OHIO SCHOOL SHOOTING
A second victim has been confirmed dead after a teenager opened fire in a high school cafeteria in a suburb of Cleveland on Monday. Another four people were wounded. The gunman was arrested a half mile from the school, and the FBI has yet to comment on a motive. [CBS News]

5. SLEEPING PILLS LINKED TO HIGHER DEATH RISK
A new study has found that even occasionally using prescription sleeping pills can substantially increase a user's risk of death and cancer. "We are not certain. But it looks like sleeping pills could be as risky as smoking cigarettes," says Dr. Daniel F. Kripke, the study's leader. [WebMD]

6. PROVIEW SEEKS GLOBAL RIGHTS TO IPAD NAME
Proview Electronics, a Taiwan-based company, is seeking to take its fight to regain rights to the iPad name beyond China. The company insists it owns the trademark in mainland China, a matter it's already taken to the courts there. Now, it's looking to regain worldwide rights to the iPad trademark and seeking a cut of Apple's profits for "unfair competition." [Associated Press]

7. STRANDED CRUISE SHIP BEING TOWED TO SEYCHELLES
A French fishing vessel on Tuesday started towing a crippled Italian cruise ship in the Indian Ocean. The ship, the Costa Allegra, lost power in a fire on Monday. It is the sister ship of the Costa Concordia, the vessel that ran aground in Italy in January. The Costa Allegra, with more than 1,000 passengers and crew members on board, is expected to reach a nearby Seychelles island on Wednesday. [Associated Press]

8. FBI TEAMING UP WITH MICHAEL DOUGLAS
The feds have enlisted actor Michael Douglas to fight insider trading. Douglas riffs off of his Oscar-winning turn as Gordon Gekko in 1987's Wall Street in a new public service announcement, saying "the movie was fiction, but the problem is real." [Bloomberg]

9. KENSETH WINS DAYTONA 500
Matt Kenseth won his second Daytona 500 in four years on Monday night. The victory followed a rain delay, the first in the race's 54-year history, and a fiery crash when Juan Pablo Montoya slammed into a jet dryer. Montoya's Chevrolet exploded in flames and was destroyed, but he escaped serious injury. [Sports Illustrated]

10. CAT RUNNING FOR SENATE IN VIRGINIA
A Virginia cat named Hank has launched a campaign for a Senate seat. His platform focuses on job creation, consumer protection, and "putting milk in every bowl." [Huffington Post]
