Since 1995, Kids in Need has distributed more than $350 million worth of classroom supplies.

Kids in Need Foundation (kinf.org) provides free school supplies to economically disadvantaged children throughout the United States. Since 1995, Kids in Need has distributed more than $350 million worth of classroom supplies, last year benefiting more than 3,400 schools and 1.6 million children. The foundation awards grants to teachers each year for innovative classroom projects and operates 25 resource centers around the country where teachers at low-income schools can shop for free classroom supplies. Thanks to product donations from corporations and partnerships with educational nonprofit groups, Kids in Need was able to procure $32 worth of supplies for every $1 donated in 2010.

Each charity we feature has earned a four-star overall rating from Charity Navigator.
