The average cost of a trip to the cineplex — up 200 percent since the early '90s — is breaking the bank more than ever
People may start redefining date night as "dinner and... a long, mildly diverting walk." According to the National Association of Theater Owners, the average price of a movie ticket has hit a record high, climbing to $8.06 in the U.S. But, compared to moviegoers in other countries, Americans actually have it lucky.
