Playing a lesbian couple, Julianne Moore and Annette Bening “capture the delicate dynamics” of gay marriage when their relationship is rocked by their children’s choice to seek out their sperm-donor father.

Sondheim! The Birthday Concert

This concert film “captures the excitement and magic” of Broadway’s two-night celebration of Stephen Sondheim’s 80th birthday, said the Toronto Star. Last spring, Bernadette Peters, Elaine Stritch, and “the cream” of musical theater joined the New York Philharmonic to pay homage to the American composer and lyricist.

The Oscar-winning 1935 version, which stars Clark Gable and Charles Laughton, is now available in a 75th-anniversary Blu-ray edition.
