Bad day for: Foodies, as Conde Nast Publications is closing Gourmet, the nation's oldest food magazine, due to a severe advertising slump. The company also will close three other titles, Modern Bride, Elegant Bride, and parenting magazine Cookie. Gourmet -- launched in 1941 as "the magazine of good living" -- had nearly a million subscribers. "We're all stunned, sad," Gourmet's editor, Ruth Reichl, posted on Twitter. (Associated Press)
