Was Steve Irwin fed to crocodiles?

Suspicion is mounting in Australia that the body of TV naturalist Steve Irwin was fed to crocodiles at his request, says The National Enquirer. Though his widow, Terri, calls the rumors “baseless and offensive,” details of Irwin’s final resting place have never been released. Now, a senior official at the Australia Zoo confirms that a live crocodile was a participant in the private funeral service three years ago. The mystery was further deepened when Irwin’s father declined to confirm or deny the claim, calling the issue of his son’s burial “strictly taboo and out of bounds.”

Stray dogs in Moscow have apparently taught themselves to use the subway. Biologist Andrew Poyarkov, who has studied the animals, says the dogs ride commuter trains every morning into central Moscow, where food is easier to find, then ride back in the evening to the outskirts of the city where they sleep. “They seem to have learned how long they need to stay on the train to leave at the right station,” Poyarkov says.

Flying fish shatters windshield

An Ohio woman is recovering from the rare shock of having her windshield destroyed by a flying fish. Leighann Niles, 35, says

she was driving with her 5-year-old daughter in Danbury Township. “I look in the air and see the most beautiful eagle I’d ever seen in my life,” she relates. But Niles’ joy was cut short when a fish—a Lake Erie freshwater drum—managed to wiggle out the eagle’s mouth. “It dropped like a brick and completely shattered my windshield.”
