Jobs' liver-transplant prognosis, Craigslist's ‘420’ pot bust

Good day for damage control, Bad day for street smarts

GOOD DAY FOR: Damage control, after the Methodist University Hospital Transplant Institute in Memphis said that Apple CEO Steve Jobs, who received a liver transplant there, has an “excellent prognosis.” The hospital said that Jobs had been the sickest patient on the liver-donor list. Apple has faced criticism for its secrecy surrounding Jobs’ medical conditions. (Bloomberg)

BAD DAY FOR: Street smarts, after a Craigslist ad offering “420 help is here” led police in Quincy, Mass., to bust the ad’s author for selling marijuana. Christopher Gray, 30, apparently thought vice cops don’t know that 420 is common slang for smoking pot. When he went to seal the deal, Gray reportedly overcame suspicion of the two undercover cops, saying: “Well, I trust you. You look normal.” (The Quincy Patriot Ledger)
