Were U.S. troops at fault?

Madrid
A Spanish judge this week asked to question three U.S. soldiers as suspects in the death of a Spanish cameraman in Iraq. Telecinco cameraman Jose Couso died in the early days of the war when a U.S. shell hit Baghdad’s Palestine Hotel, where many foreign reporters were staying. Judge Santiago Pedraz has not formally charged the soldiers, but he has officially asked the Pentagon for permission to question them. The U.S. military is unlikely to allow access. A 2003 Pentagon investigation cleared the soldiers of culpability.
