Paris
Vandals set fire to four fast-food restaurants in the Paris suburbs this week, prompting French police to suspect the arsons were anti-American political statements. Three of the restaurants were part of the Buffalo Grill chain; the other was a McDonald’s. Police said the attacks could be a response to the U.S.-led war on Iraq—although Buffalo Grill is French-owned. “This could be the work of idiots who believe that Buffalo Grill is an American company,” one officer said.
