Innovation of the week: RingCam
From The Idea Factory, our special report on innovation

Why tell your friends about your romantic proposal when you can show it to them instead? said Keith Wagstaff at Today. Ring Cam helps lovers save their marriage proposal for posterity with engagement-ring boxes featuring built-in high-definition cameras and microphones. The boxes, which are available for three-week rentals for $99, include a wide-angle lens to guarantee you'll get good "footage of your future husband or wife reacting — hopefully — with glee."
A hidden button on the top of the box activates the camera, and a USB port lets users charge the batteries and transfer the video files to their computers. Users can also pay $199 for the Proposal Package: Ring Cam video editors will turn your proposal footage into a personalized video — complete with snapshots and music.
