Innovation of the week: The Naked 3D Fitness Tracker
It pairs a rotating scale with a smart mirror

"Have you ever tried to see what your butt looks like to other people?" asked Susan Rinkunas at New York magazine. Well, it's about to get a lot easier, thanks to a new "smart mirror" that will show you your body in extensive, perhaps excruciating, detail. The Naked 3D Fitness Tracker pairs a rotating scale with a smart mirror to scan your body in 3-D and generate a "claylike rendering of you in your undies" in a companion app.
The readout then shows where your body is gaining muscle or fat, as well as your measurements. You can also view a time-lapse showing your improvement — or lack thereof. Hard-core fitness fanatics will likely appreciate the tracker's promised precision, which the makers say will be more accurate than home body-fat scales, but it "could be extra defeating if all those workouts aren't doing a thing."
